Extension of Time for Holding of AGM / EGM

The MCA, by a General Circular dated December 8, 2021, has further extended the timeline to June 30, 2022 (earlier December 31, 2021), for companies to conduct their annual general meetings which were due to be conducted in 2021. Further, by General Circulars dated December 8, 2021 and December 14, 2021, the MCA has allowed companies additional time up to June 30, 2022, to conduct extraordinary general meetings (for which prescribed date earlier was December 31, 2021) and annual general meetings which are proposed to be organized in 2022 (for the financial year ended or ending any time before / on March 31, 2022) through video conferencing or other audio-visual means.
