DoT Licenses Amended to Include Permission Required in Case of Expansion of Existing Networks

The Satellite Division of the DoT has by way of Press Releases dated July 11, 2022 and July 12, 2022, amended the UL Agreement, INSAT MSS-R Service License Agreement, Captive VSAT CUG License Agreement, and Commercial VSAT CUG License Agreement. Pursuant to the amendment the licensee is required to obtain permission from the designated authority even in case of expansion of existing networks utilizing telecom equipment which has not been designated as trusted products. Earlier, such permission was required only for upgradation of network.
