3 New Labour Codes Receive the President’s Assent

3 New Labour Codes Receive the President’s Assent

Pursuant to our last update, the three labour codes, i.e., the Code on Social Security, 2020, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 have received the President’s assent on September 28, 2020 and have been published in the Official Gazette on September 29, 2020. The codes shall come into force on such date as the Central Government notifies.

We note from informal press releases that all four codes (including the Code on Wages, 2019) are likely to be brought into effect simultaneously, by end of this year.
